Intro: Last week we finished with salvation comes through faith, not by works.

- With that being said, true faith always has good works and we should never take God’s grace for granted by thinking grace is a license to do whatever you want

Galatians 2:20 “My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

1. (V1-4) You recieved the Holy Spirit when you believed the message you heard about Christ

FOOLS BECAUSE THEY ARE BLIND AND UNDER A SPELL OF DECEPTION
They turned from following the truth to following after a lie
God took away the bondage of following after the law, yet they desired to go back
a) Freely given through faith
Ephesians 1:14 “The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.”
Ephesians 2:8–9 “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.”
b) The Law of Moses
the Law of Moses refers only to the 600-plus commandments and regulations in the second through fifth books of the Torah. We often refer to the commandments as “the Law of Moses”; of course, they are actually the Law of God. Moses was the one through whom God gave Israel the law.
The Law of Moses is often divided into three broad categories: moral laws, civil (or judicial) laws, and ceremonial laws:

2.1 The Galatians were turning away from God and going back to their old ways

THE SAME THING HAPPENS TODAY. PEOPLE BEGIN TO GO TO CHURCH OR LIVE FOR GOD, BUT TURN AWAY FOR DIFFERENT REASONS.
a) Don’t turn away from God for any reason:
People walk with God for a period of time and then they slowly drift away
b) Parable of the sower describes the Word of God thrown out as the seed.
Some receive it only to have satan come and take it away (Mark 4:15)
Some are persecuted and fall away (V16)
Others fall away because of the worries of life and the desire for wealth (V19)
